Finding Yourself

Everyone is influenced by someone else in life one way or another.

Friends sort of feed off of each others' styles as well, if they hang around each other enough.
But is there such thing as taking it too far as far as copying one's style?

Or perhaps saying the things they say?
Doing the things they do?

Going the same places they go to for fun?

It's no huge deal, one might think.

This ain't high school after all.
(No offense to any high school readers.)

However, watching someone constantly do the things you do can start to feel a lot like they're mimicking you.

It can be borderline/quite annoying at times.

It can even start to get creepy.

It can be embarrassing for the person being "duplicated."

They don't want everyone to think that they do whatever their friends do, and wear what they wear.
Talk how they talk.

Dress how they dress.

Everything you do in life should be because you personally like to.

No one person's opinion or liking of something should change your opinion or liking of it.
Sure, people do change their opinion of things based on others sometimes.

But if it's on a regular basis?
And the same person each time?

It can become a problem with the other person.

You shouldn't feel the need to strive to be like someone, and you should know that copying someone with everything they do in life can make some feel upset/annoyed/creeped out.

I've seen two girls "coincidentally" wearing the exact same outfit one day in high school (the two were in my circle of friends.)
  • One was shocked, the other chuckled...Hmm.
I've hung around two girls that looked just alike due to one copying the other much to her dismay.
  • She later found her panties dirty, worn, and wrinkled in the other's hamper.
I've seen a guy (back in MySpace's popular days) go on people's pages, and post the music they have listed on their music section on his music section, knowing damn well that he didn't listen to it.

I've seen a girl name her baby after another's baby, and the name is not very common.

People need to find themselves.

Do things for themselves, not do what others do.

The more you be yourself with your own personality and your own individuality, the more people will embrace you!!

Just for being you!!

You're beautiful!!

Go be beautiful!!
